TAA Teacher Heroes, formerly known as BrightSpots, celebrates outstanding arts educators who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of their students and school communities.
Every day, arts educators bring creativity, dedication, and passion to their classrooms—finding innovative ways to inspire students, overcome challenges, and create meaningful experiences. The Tennessee Arts Academy Foundation is proud to recognize these exceptional educators and let the world know the extraordinary work being done in schools across Tennessee and beyond.
Through TAA Teacher Heroes, we celebrate these teachers whose commitment to arts education inspires their students, strengthens their schools, and demonstrates the lasting impact of the arts.

The committee will review nominations as they are received, and selected Teacher Heroes will be announced monthly in the TAA newsletter.
The nomination period runs from mid-September through December 1st.
In addition to being featured in the TAA newsletter, all TAA Teacher Heroes will be recognized during the TAA Summer Institute Finale Luncheon and will receive a plaque to display in their school or classroom. The principal and superintendent of each TAA Teacher Hero, along with their state legislators, will also receive a letter announcing the honor and recognizing the educator's exemplary contributions.
